Amendment to Article 4 of the Standards for the Allocations of Firefighting Engines, Equipment and Manpower for Special Municipalities, Counties and Cities
Abstract
This amendment applies to the allocation of firefighting engines, rescue vehicles, firefighting duty vehicles and firefighting equipment by firefighting authorities of special municipalities, counties and cities. It clarifies the basic allocation of firefighting engines according to population and brigade service areas, and adds allocation standards for aerial ladder trucks based on the number of buildings of six storeys or more within a brigade area. It also adds requirements for chemical fire engines, with tiered allocations based on the number of sites handling Category 4 public hazardous materials and the maximum quantities stored or handled; where both criteria are met, allocations must be made separately. Rescue equipment vehicles are newly added and allocated according to population, while command vehicles, duty motorcycles, other vehicles and equipment remain subject to the prescribed rules or actual rescue needs.
