Biodegradable Polyesters for Blown Film (Draft for Comments)

Applicable to the production and inspection of biodegradable polyesters for blown film, including base resins such as aliphatic-aromatic copolyesters, polylactic acid, poly(alpha-hydroxyalkanoates), polybutylene succinate and polycaprolactone. The draft specifies requirements for appearance, moisture, melting temperature, melt mass-flow rate, density, tensile strength and elongation at break. Organic content shall be no less than 51%, and absolute or relative biodegradation shall be no less than 90%. It also limits hazardous substances including arsenic, cadmium, chromium, copper, fluorine, mercury and lead, and sets requirements for sampling, testing, type and factory inspection, marking, packaging, transport and storage.
