Commission Regulation (EU) 2026/1791 of 23 July 2026 amending and correcting Regulation (EU) 2017/1151 as regards emission type-approval procedures for light passenger and commercial vehicles, end dates for Euro 6 vehicles and certain specific technical requirements

This Regulation applies to emission type-approval and vehicle registration management for light passenger and commercial vehicles in EU Member States. It amends Regulation (EU) 2017/1151 by incorporating the final registration dates for Euro 6 vehicles; aligning WLTP requirements for measuring fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions from hydrogen-fuelled vehicles with UN Regulation No 154; updating rules on evaporative emissions, on-board diagnostics, portable emissions measurement systems, drift correction and air-mass-flow calculations in line with UN Regulations Nos 154 and 168; and deleting certain production-conformity requirements. For certain hybrid electric drive trains, both net engine power and maximum 30-minute electric-drive power must be determined. It also corrects formulas, dataset requirements and numerical errors in the Annexes.
