Construction Sites (Safety) Regulations (Cap. 59 sub. leg. I)

These Regulations apply to all construction work, construction sites, and the machinery, plant, tools, gear and materials used in construction. Contractors responsible for sites and other contractors must ensure workplace safety and ensure that hoists, scaffolds, working platforms, ladders, excavations, electrical equipment and machinery meet requirements for construction, maintenance, inspection, testing and safe operation. They must implement measures against falls, falling objects, inadequate enclosure, dust and fumes, eye injuries and drowning, and provide safety helmets, first-aid, sanitary, shelter and meal facilities. Contractors must report project information, changes and completion, retain statutory records and inspection certificates; contraventions may result in fines or imprisonment.
