Discharge Standard of Water Pollutants for Pharmaceutical Industry

This standard applies to water pollutant discharge management for existing pharmaceutical enterprises and their production facilities, as well as centralized wastewater treatment facilities for the pharmaceutical industry in Shanghai, and to environmental impact assessment, environmental protection facility design, completion environmental protection acceptance, pollutant discharge permitting, and post-commissioning management of relevant construction projects. It specifies direct and indirect discharge limits for Category I pollutants and basic and characteristic Category II pollutants, as well as requirements for monitoring, standardized wastewater outlets, and compliance determination. It also sets benchmark wastewater volumes per unit product for fermentation, extraction, chemical synthesis, traditional Chinese medicine, biological pharmaceutical products, and chemical pharmaceutical preparations.
