Draft Amendment to the Schedules and Items of Controlled Drugs

This draft applies to the scheduling and item management of controlled drugs. It proposes adding Ethyl N-formyl-N-(1-phenylethyl)glycinate and etomidate acid as active pharmaceutical ingredients of Schedule IV controlled drugs. Such drugs may be supplied only for medical and scientific needs and are subject to scheduling based on their propensity for habituation, dependence, abuse, and social harm. The proposed items have already been announced by the Executive Yuan as narcotics, with the aim of aligning narcotics control and controlled-drug management timelines and avoiding impacts on scientific needs.
