Environmental Testing—Part 2: Test Methods—Test Kf: Salt Mist with Controlled Humidity
Abstract
This standard applies to assessing the corrosion resistance and environmental adaptability of energized or non-energized electrical and electronic products, components and materials used in a salt mist environment with controlled humidity. Relevant specifications shall determine specimen quantity, type, installation condition, test duration and inspection requirements. The test shall use sodium chloride solution meeting specified concentration and impurity limits, control the pH value of the spray solution, and prohibit reuse of the spray solution. The test chamber shall meet requirements for control, uniform distribution and monitoring of temperature, relative humidity and salt mist concentration. Specimens shall undergo initial inspection, preconditioning, installation in their normal service condition, post-test recovery and final inspection, and a test report shall be prepared.
