Extruded Particleboard (Draft for Comments)

This standard applies to the production, inspection and trade of non-load-bearing extruded particleboard for use under dry indoor conditions, covering solid, hollow, longitudinal and transverse products. Manufacturers shall control dimensions, appearance, density, moisture content, mechanical properties, thickness swelling after water absorption and dimensional change in the extrusion direction. Products shall be classified as E1, E0 or ENF according to formaldehyde emissions; where required by purchasers, they shall also meet VOC emission and odour grade requirements. Products and packaging shall bear information including product name, specifications, production date, applicable standard and formaldehyde emission marking, and shall undergo factory inspection, type inspection and sampling determination as specified.
