Fire Blanket (Draft for Comments)
Abstract
This draft applies to fire blankets for extinguishing small fires at an early stage, covering reusable Type I products for professional rescue teams handling fires involving vehicles and charging facilities, and single-use Type II products for households and offices handling fires involving cooking utensils and electrical appliances. It proposes requirements for product designation, appearance and construction, dimensions, mass, strength, flex resistance, dynamic cut resistance, abrasion resistance, smoke leakage, high- and low-temperature resistance, flame performance, insulation, operability and fire-extinguishing performance, as well as test methods, factory and type inspection, marking, packaging, transport and storage. Products must meet the applicable dimensional, mass and performance limits and indicate manufacturing date and recommended storage life. Upon implementation, the standard is intended to replace and repeal XF 1205—2014.
