Fire Services Ordinance (Cap. 95)(2026 Consolidated Edition)

The Ordinance applies to members of the Fire Services Department, contractors for fire service installations or equipment, registered fire engineers, and owners and occupiers of premises in Hong Kong. It regulates the organization, duties, powers and discipline of the Fire Services Department, and authorizes the investigation of fires and other calamities, the abatement of fire hazards, and the administration of a welfare fund. The sale, supply, installation, repair, maintenance and inspection of fire service installations or equipment are regulated, and relevant contractors must be registered. It also establishes a registered fire engineer regime under which registered fire engineers may conduct fire safety risk assessments and certify compliance with fire safety requirements for specified premises.
