Green Product Assessment—Stainless Steel

This standard applies to the green product assessment of stainless-steel plates, strips, bars, wire rods and sections produced through iron-ore blast furnace, laterite-nickel-ore blast furnace, submerged arc furnace or electric furnace processes. Producers shall meet basic requirements on pollutant discharge, pollutant discharge permits, accident control, quality, environmental, energy and occupational health and safety management systems, energy and water metering, and solid and hazardous waste management, and shall not use eliminated or prohibited technologies, processes, equipment or substances. Products shall comply with the relevant quality standards and, according to the production process, meet assessment indicators for water withdrawal, water reuse, energy consumption, pollutant emissions, sulfur content, mechanical properties and product carbon-footprint reporting, with test reports and supporting evidence provided.
