Greenhouse Gas—Quantification Requirements and Method for Product Carbon Footprint—Electric Bicycles (Draft for Comments)

This document applies to the quantification of product carbon footprints for electric bicycles, the preparation of study reports, and carbon footprint declarations. Manufacturers and relevant assessment and certification bodies should use a functional unit and cover life-cycle stages including raw material acquisition, production, transport and delivery, use, and end-of-life; collect activity data; assess data quality; and calculate greenhouse gas emissions using the specified system boundaries, cut-off criteria, allocation methods, and global warming potential parameters. Carbon footprint study reports should include enterprise and product information, quantification objectives and scope, data sources, inventory analysis, impact assessment, interpretation of results, and assumptions and limitations. Data collection forms, default emission factors, and a report template are provided.
