Industrial Chemicals Charges (Customs) Regulations 2020 (2026 Consolidated Edition)

These Regulations apply to persons importing relevant industrial chemicals into Australia and prescribe rules for calculating industrial chemicals registration charges. Relevant industrial chemicals exclude naturally occurring chemicals, non-isolated intermediates, incidentally introduced chemicals, chemicals released for equipment maintenance, chemicals released from articles not designed to release them, and imported chemicals that remain under customs control and leave Australia within 25 working days after introduction. The charge is determined by the value of relevant industrial chemicals introduced during a registration year, with application and transitional arrangements for the 2023, 2024 and 2026 amendments.
