Industrial Chemicals Charges (General) Regulations 2020 (2026 Consolidated Edition)

The Regulations apply to persons required to register under the Industrial Chemicals Act 2019 for introducing relevant industrial chemicals in Australia, including importers and manufacturers. They provide that the registration charge is calculated by reference to the value of relevant industrial chemicals introduced during a financial year and define the chargeable scope. Naturally occurring chemicals, non-isolated intermediates, incidentally introduced chemicals, certain chemicals introduced in goods or equipment solely for maintenance, chemicals released other than as designed, and imported chemicals remaining under customs control are excluded. The Regulations also provide application and transitional arrangements for the 2023, 2024 and 2026 amendments.
