Measuring Instrument for Particulate Contaminants in Aviation Fuel by Online Sampling (Draft for Comments)

This standard applies to the manufacture, inspection and acceptance of instruments for online sampling and determination of particulate contaminants in aviation fuel. Instruments shall ensure representative sampling and repeatable test results; fuel-contacting components shall be compatible with aviation fuel and shall not cause contamination, swelling or corrosion, and shall incorporate anti-static, explosion-proof, grounding and overpressure-protection measures. It specifies technical requirements for sampling interfaces, membrane assemblies, flow control, pressure indication, and sample collection and discharge, as well as test methods for tightness, cleanliness, filtration ratio, electrical safety and explosion protection. Each instrument shall undergo specified factory inspection before delivery, while type inspection covers all test requirements.
