Abstract

This draft applies to energy-efficiency testing and evaluation of household and similar-use vacuum cleaners, cleaning robots and floor washers supplied by AC or DC at a single-phase rated voltage not exceeding 250 V. It covers corded and cordless vacuum cleaners, robots with vacuuming or vacuuming-and-floor-washing functions, and cordless floor washers; upholstery cleaners, wet carpet cleaners, central vacuum cleaners, corded floor washers and adhesive floor washers are excluded. The document proposes three energy-efficiency grades based on the energy efficiency index, with Grade 3 as the minimum allowable value. Manufacturers should determine annual energy consumption, standby or off-mode energy consumption and cleaning performance under prescribed operating modes and test methods, and ensure that the determined grade is not lower than the rated grade.
