Packing Containers—Heavy Duty Corrugated Boxes (Draft for Comments)
Abstract
This standard applies to the design, manufacture, use and inspection of heavy duty corrugated boxes for transport packaging, including boxes with contents weighing more than 55 kg or with combined internal dimensions exceeding 2,500 mm. It classifies boxes into Type I, made entirely of corrugated board, and Type II, which may use reinforcing components such as wood, plastic or metal. It specifies requirements and test methods for materials, appearance, dimensional tolerances, creasing, slotting, flaps, stitching or bonding, board performance, reinforcement, compression resistance and mechanical impact resistance, as well as requirements for factory inspection, type inspection, sampling and acceptance, marking, packaging, transport and storage. It is intended to replace GB/T 16717-2013.
