Plan for the Development of the New-Type Power System during the 15th Five-Year Plan Period
Abstract
The Plan applies to entities involved in power planning, construction, operation and regulation nationwide, coordinating the development of renewable energy, hydropower, nuclear power, coal-fired power, energy storage, power grids, charging infrastructure and electricity markets. By 2030, it calls for increasing the shares of non-fossil power generation and installed capacity; advancing region-specific renewable-energy consumption, direct green-power connections, zero-carbon industrial parks and energy-saving and carbon-reduction retrofits of coal-fired power; building coordinated transmission, distribution and microgrids; enhancing interprovincial mutual support, storage-based peak supply, demand response and vehicle-grid interaction; improving power safety, emergency response, construction quality and grid-connection safety management; promoting artificial intelligence, standardization, and integration of power with computing, transport, heat and hydrogen; and strengthening the national unified electricity market and regulatory mechanisms.
