Plastics—Polyether polyols for use in the production of polyurethane—Part 4: Determination of sodium and potassium content
Abstract
This standard applies to producers, users and third parties of polyether polyols for determining sodium and potassium contents in polyether polyols used for polyurethane production during research and development, quality control, process control and specific testing. It specifies three methods: atomic emission spectrometry, atomic absorption spectrometry and inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry, as well as requirements for reagents, apparatus, sample preparation, calibration curves, result calculation, precision and test reports. Testing shall prevent contamination by dust, fumes and external sodium or potassium; sample solutions shall be prepared on the day of determination, and parallel determinations and result reporting shall be conducted as specified.
