Shanghai Carbon Inclusion Emission Reduction Scenario Methodology: Classified Collection and Resource Utilization of Recyclable Materials from Household Sources (SHCER02040022026 II)
Abstract
This methodology applies to emission-reduction scenarios in which individuals within Shanghai Municipality separately deliver household recyclable materials, including waste paper, plastics, glass products, metals and textiles, in accordance with requirements and such materials are collected for resource utilization. Implementing entities shall use digital platforms to record and archive data on delivery type, weight, time, location and settlement, use calibrated measuring instruments, ensure data authenticity and uniqueness, and undertake that emission reductions have not been claimed repeatedly. Emission reductions are calculated from avoided incineration emissions and the substitution of virgin materials by recycled materials. Unsorted recyclables whose categories cannot be verified shall be treated as mixed recyclables, and each user's annual delivery volume is capped at 300 kg.
