Methodology for Carbon Inclusion Benefits from Intelligent Recycling of Recyclables in Shenzhen (Draft for Comments)
Abstract
This methodology applies to the accounting of carbon inclusion emission reductions generated within Shenzhen where individuals deposit recyclable paper, plastics, metals and textiles into intelligent recycling bins, followed by centralized sorting and transport by recycling enterprises and processing for reuse by recycling enterprises. Project applicants must be recycling enterprises operating intelligent recycling bins in Shenzhen and maintaining platforms for retaining and aggregating operational data; eligible recycling volumes are limited to the intelligent recycling-bin channel. Enterprises shall obtain user authorization, calculate emission-reduction benefits based on order data and distribute such benefits to users, retain unique orders, images and monitoring data, and undertake not to make duplicate claims. The methodology uses conventional incineration, landfill disposal and virgin-material production as the baseline, and calculates emission reductions by deducting project emissions from baseline emissions.
