Abstract

This draft applies to energy-efficient design for newly built, renovated and expanded cement plants. The partial revision proposes adding Category E buildings and updating building energy-efficiency requirements; revising the applicable energy-efficiency standards for general equipment and energy-consumption indicators for cement production lines, reducing electricity-consumption indicators for raw material grinding, coal pulverization and cement grinding, and unifying energy-efficiency indicators for clinker burning systems. It also proposes requirements for metering and energy-consumption statistics for co-processing waste, encourages the use of alternative fuels and calculation of fuel substitution rates, requires LED light sources and intelligent lighting control systems, and raises metering accuracy requirements for raw material and cement batching, kiln-feed and coal-feed scales.
