This draft applies to toilet tissue paper for daily use and toilet tissue base paper sold for processing into toilet tissue paper. Producers shall ensure that products contain no toxic or hazardous substances; recycled fibre shall comply with relevant specifications; and chemicals and raw materials used in production shall meet safety assessment requirements. Products shall meet requirements for physical and chemical properties, microbiological indicators, dimensional deviations, permissible shortages and appearance quality, and shall undergo prescribed inspection, determination, marking, packaging, transport and storage. Sales packaging shall indicate raw materials, specifications, quantity, quality grade, production information and the wording “for toilet use”. The revision adds requirements for raw materials, friction coefficient, acrylamide, heavy metals and colour fastness, strengthens microbiological indicators, and adjusts requirements for water absorption capacity, tensile strength and dispersibility.
