Marine Fluorescent Signs—Part 1: Life-saving Signs
Abstract
This standard applies to the design, manufacture and acceptance of marine fluorescent life-saving signs, including adhesive and non-adhesive signs. Products shall use durable, non-toxic, harmless and non-radioactive materials; graphics shall comply with requirements for ship life-saving system, equipment and escape-route signs; and requirements for dimensions, appearance, chromaticity, luminance, flame retardancy, adhesion, release-paper removability, coating adhesion and light fastness shall be met. Manufacturers shall conduct type inspection and piece-by-piece factory inspection. Conforming products shall be marked with manufacturing information, model, batch number, storage validity period and rain-protection symbol, and shall be moisture-protected in packaging and properly transported and stored.
