Abstract

This document applies to continuous, quasi-continuous, pulsed, fiber-coupled direct semiconductor, and ring-spot fiber lasers for industrial processing with rated output power of not less than 500 W; it excludes optical communication fiber lasers and thulium- or holmium-doped fiber lasers. It specifies three electrical-to-optical conversion efficiency grades by cooling method and product type, with Grade 3 serving as the minimum allowable energy-efficiency value. Products generating green light by frequency doubling shall meet 50% of the corresponding indicators. For lasers with rated input power exceeding 10,000 W and equipped with water chillers, standby power shall not exceed 5% of rated input power. Manufacturers and testing entities shall measure output optical power and input electrical power in accordance with the prescribed method to calculate and determine energy-efficiency grades.
