Recovery of Traction Battery Used in Electric Vehicle—Recycling—Part 5: Recycled Material Product Identification (Draft for Comments)

This standard applies to recycled material products, including black mass, metal salts, precursors, cathode materials and anode materials, produced during the recycling of traction batteries used in electric vehicles. Producers shall prepare and display labels corresponding to product batches and ensuring traceability, and shall be responsible for the authenticity, accuracy and completeness of label information. Labels shall at least state the product name, batch number, recycled content of target elements such as lithium, cobalt and nickel, producer, production date, specification or model, applicable standard and traceability query method, and shall use the prescribed product symbol. Labels shall be clear, conspicuous, secure and durable; products with outer packaging shall be labelled in a conspicuous position, while products without packaging or unsuitable for direct labelling shall be accompanied by the information in accompanying documents. Products that are hazardous chemicals or subject to other special controls shall also comply with applicable laws, regulations and standards.
