Recycling of Traction Batteries Used in Electric Vehicles—Recycling—Part 6: Traceability and Accounting Method of Recycled Materials (Draft for Comments)

Applicable to recycled products containing nickel, cobalt, lithium and other elements produced from traction battery scraps, as well as recycled copper, recycled aluminium, recycled graphite and other materials; other materials may apply it by reference. Recycled-material producers are required to establish an information-based, full-process traceability system covering procurement, production, warehousing and sales, assign unique identifiers using production batches as the minimum unit, and retain authentic, complete and verifiable original records for no less than 10 years. Enterprises shall verify supplier documentation and recycled attributes, use actual production data, calculate recycled content of target elements for stages including black mass, metal salts, precursors and cathode materials, and prepare accounting reports and disclosures as required.
