Abstract

The Rules apply to operators exporting regulated waste tyres from Australia. Waste tyres are prescribed as regulated waste material, and exports require a waste tyres export licence. Applicants must demonstrate compliance with prescribed conditions according to the intended use of the tyres, including recycling, retreading, re-use or use as tyre-derived fuel. Licences may specify export operations, tyre categories and conditions. Licence holders must comply with licence conditions, notify the CEO of specified events, and are subject to variation, suspension, revocation and directions. Applicants for exemptions must meet prescribed requirements. Exporters must also make and retain records and must not alter or deface them during the retention period.
